THE SUIT THAT SUITS!

Salwar-suits and the numerous modern twists to it not only spoil us for choice but also builds confusion in our minds to pick the perfect one!

To avoid all the confusion …We @ Paisley have penned down few tips on choosing the Right type of Salwar-suit – Lets get going!

  1. Red alert – Depending on the fit, they can make you look slim or plump. Basically, salwar-suit makes a woman look slimmer and shapely.
  2. If you are a bit on the bulky side, and are sure would never be able to knock off those Kilos J choose fabrics like soft silk, crepe, soft cotton, linen, georgette. Polyester or chiffon, which would hang away from your body making, you look bigger. Silky fabrics that cling just a bit, are a good choice for YOU!
  3. Also fabric blends with spandex; Lycra like stretchable fabrics should be chosen very carefully, as they will tend to stick to the curves of your body accentuating them in bad manner keeping the wrong areas in focus
  4. If you are too slim …envied by others …but as they say the Grass is always green the other side …and you dread that … would want to add some volume to your figure, go for heavy silks, jute, thick cotton, spandex blend cotton. You can try with chiffon and polyester too.
  5. Avoid sleeveless, deep neck or open back designs of the top, if you are heavy. Flesh protruding out of the dress is not flattering.
  6. Avoid frills, layers, too much detailing, glitter work around the part of your body, which you would not want to emphasis – as it inturn brings it in focus!
  7. If you are pear shaped, meaning your bottom part is bigger than the top part, have your suit made with a yoke. The yoke ends just below the bust, giving it some lift and accentuating it more and creating a visual balance between the upper and lower part of body.
  8. If you are too skinny, long, flared Anarkalis would make you look beautiful. But since Anarkali designs are not apt for casual wear, you can opt for A-line cuts with little added flare.
  9. If you are tall, you can easily wear short tops with pleated Patiala bottoms. They would give a shapely volume that balances your height.
  10. If you are short in height, wear straight fit tops that end 2-3 inches below your knees to elongate your frame – the cheat code will work perfect. Strictly avoid tops that end just below the hips, or tops that are too long…vice versa for the bulky frame.
  11. When choosing a tunic or a Kurti, let them be a bit loose over the leggings or even jeggings. Tight, short tunics over leggings are a major faux-pas seen very popularly in the fashion brigade.
  12. When it comes to prints, the rules are universal for any attire. Take it in wriitn …it’s the Small prints for bigger frames, bold prints for tiny frames, vertical stripes for short ones, horizontal for tall ones.
  13. When considering the colors, bright, bold, shiny colors for thin frames and subtle, earthy, rustic, dark colors for broad frames. Although go ahead and experiment with colors since they have a lot to do with your mood and attitude.  As they popularly say – With the right attitude, you can carry off any color.

Ultimately, there is only one fashion mantra for dressing in Indian Ethnic Wear, that is the ‘Perfect Fitting’. No matter what style you wear, it will look fabulous on you if the fitting is Perfect….not even good or nice, but only Perfect!

Hot Necklines to Glam Up Your Anarkali

1

Think ethnic wear, and you cannot ignore the impact anarkalis have had in the world of Indian fashion. The best thing about this stylish Indian outfit is that you can make a statement in it without too many accessories. A perfect pick for a festive occasion or a wedding ceremony, you can jazz up your anarkali with an attractive neckline. These trendy neckline designs for anarkalis as well as salwar kameez are sure to impress!

2

Scoop neckline: The scoop neckline adds the right amount of sexiness to your look without being too high nor too deep. As far as accessories are concerned, wear a pair of statement earrings and leave your neck bare.

3

Plunging V neckline: This one’s for all those of you who don’t mind showing off a little cleavage once in a while. Keep it for a wedding ceremony or an evening do, but not a festive occasion!

4

Illusion neckline: A mesh or sheer neckline looks stunning especially if it comes with embellishments. Remember to style your dupatta in a way that it does not shift the focus away from the striking neckline.

5

Sweetheart neckline: A sweetheart neckline seems like everyone’s favorite as it takes the shape of the bust and is most preferred on anarkali dresses. Remember to pull your dupatta back to show off this beautiful neckline.

6

Keyhole neckline: A keyhole neckline allows you to style your dupatta in several ways. You can either leave it on one shoulder, or drape it from behind on your arms. However, go for a smaller keyhole neckline if you are not comfortable with baring too much décolletage.

7

Bateau neckline: The bateau neckline suits women who have small necks. This kind of high neckline helps you show off your shoulders too in a very elegant way.

8

Collar neckline: Let’s admit a collar neckline is not meant for everyone. But the best thing is that you can wear it with a half jacket without fussing about accessories. Choose a collar neckline like this one for a more casual do.

9

High-neck: If you have a slender neck, then this neckline is made just for you. Buttoned, hooked or open, a high-neck collar looks stunning if you have some embroidery around the neckline.

10

Swan neckline: Long or three-quarter sleeves go perfectly with the swan neckline. Avoid draping the dupatta close to your neck, and keep your accessories simple to rock this look.
