Best Indian Outfits from Bollywood Movies

The Indian outfits worn in our bollywood movies has now become a hot new style trend. Here are other Bollywood movies that sparked off interesting Indian wear trends.

Anushka Sharma

1

We thought wedding outfits were all about lehengas and sarees till we saw this movie. True Delhi girl Shruti played by Anushka, puts together some really colourful salwar kameezes. Beautiful colour combinations like blue-red, lime green-orange and orange-purple made us opt for this Punjabi outfit.

Sonam Kapoor

2

Simple Kashmiri borders, knitted shawls, and full-sleeved kurtas; Sonam Kapoor as Aayat in Mausam showed us how Indian wear can look elegant. A few basic staples are all you need to put together a demure yet stylish look.

Sonam Kapoor

3

Once again, we liked how beautiful Sonam looked good in the simple outfits she wore in the movie. Patiala salwars, high-necked kurtas and anarkalis soon made it to wardrobe of many girls after this movie. And who can forget those pretty jhumkas she wore?

Kareena Kapoor

4

This movie saw Kareena in cotton salwars throughout the movie. We like how she mixed and matched her kurtas to the bottoms with differently coloured dupattas, making it not such a boring outfit to wear to college.

Prachi desai

5

Women were swooning over Prachi Desai’s Vibrant colored salwar suits throughout the movie  was which definitely was a rage.

Anushka Sharma

6

Fresh-faced beauty Anushka Sharma had a very subtle yet chic sense of style. We like how she paired plain salwar suits with brightly-embroidered dupattas. Phulkari dupattas became very popular after this movie.

Celeb Trend: Bollywood Actresses Ditch Dupattas!!

There was a time when you couldn’t imagine wearing a traditional outfit without a dupatta. It was a must, right? Over time, western outfits influenced ethnic costumes and the long dupatta was replaced by a scarf, and then a stole. Now, the dupatta has been replaced with gown-like kurtas, jackets, embroidery and heavy collars. Here are some celebrities we spotted sans the dupatta recently.
